In the spring, AMDE in conjunction with Metamorphosis Dance Academy will present “Wonderland”. Based on the Lewis Carroll novel, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, this original ballet will challenge the imagination. It will be performed on April 30 at the George W. Carver Museum Theater. Through the creative interpretation of AMDE’s finest artists and choreographers, Wonderland’s characters will come to life through dance as you’ve never seen them before. Tickets will be available through Eventbrite beginning April 1.
Austin Metamorphosis Dance Ensemble is professional dance company comprised of dancers throughout the greater Austin area. The company consists of student artists and resident artists. The dancers are challenged to be versatile while also honoring their technical ballet foundation. Productions range from classical ballets such as The Nutcracker and Sleeping Beauty to original choreography in modern and jazz. Annually, they perform a free performance in Austin’s Zilker Park. The tradition of Ballet Under the Stars is one celebrated by thousands. The company was founded with the vision of seeing dancers grow throughout their careers and innovate the world of dance. Through masterful instruction, challenging choreography, and high caliber performance experiences, AMDE is working to change the shape of dance one dancer at a time.
