Girls
Ballet
Pink tights, black leotard (any style), pink ballet shoes. Pointe shoes professionally fitted at a dancewear store for students who have been approved by ballet faculty to start pointe classes.
Jazz
Black jazz pants (any length or style), any color of leotard, black jazz shoes (no jazz sneakers).
Modern
Same as jazz. Teacher may allow a t-shirt or sweatshirt to protect back and shoulders when doing floor work.
Tap
Same as jazz. Black, oxford tap shoes. No high heels.
Combo
Pink tights, black leotard (any style), pink ballet shoes, black tap shoes.
Rhythm Combo / Youth Combo
Same as jazz plus tap shoes for Rhythm Combo class.
Adult
Sweat pants or other loose clothing that allow movement, pink ballet shoes or black jazz shoes.
Boys
White t-shirt and black tights or bike shorts, and appropriate shoes listed above.
* Please turn in your used shoes when student grows out of them. We will apply a credit to your account if we resell them to another student.
For All Classes
NO skirts, legwarmers, t-shirts, sweatshirts, or any cover-up should be worn in class unless teacher specifically permits it due to temperature of classroom or an injury that needs special attention. Do not purchase leotards with skirts attached.
NO tank tops or bra tops acceptable for jazz class. In general, no bearing of mid-riff in any class.
Hair Guidelines
Ballet: Hair should be worn in a bun, French twist, or any style where hair is secured to head. No ponytails or French braids down the back. For short hair, secure hair away from face with headband or clips. If you need instruction of how to do a bun, faculty will be happy to show you.
Jazz, Modern, Tap, All Combo classes: Hair can be worn in a ponytail, pigtails, or French braids. For extremely long hair, a bun is recommended as hair could get in the students eyes while turning. |
